Curtains Designs With Strips Of Fabric and 5 Creative Ways To Make Them

Who says curtains need to be made of fabric? And who says you have to use a curtain rod? Strip curtains are a great choice if you want something different for your home. There is an easy do-it-yourself project that transforms empty wall space into fabulous.  First off, let's talk about what they are and why they're so cool. Then, we'll go into how to make and install your own strip curtain. Finally, we'll discuss some personalization tips that can really elevate your finished product.

Types of Curtains Designs
There is a variety of ways to make curtains designs with strips of fabric. Some people prefer traditional curtain rings while others prefer simple loops.  There are also curtain ties that can be used to make curtains easily.
Some people use a variety of fabrics to create different types of curtains design.
It's easy to make a curtain using a sheer fabric and some trim.
Using solid fabric for curtains and an unusual print for a tablecloth will make the room feel more like home while using patterned fabric for the curtains.
Whatever type of curtain you want to make, there are probably some strips of fabric that you could use. Start by gathering the materials you will need to make the perfect curtain.

Crafting a Curtain
There are many creative ways to make curtains designs with strips of fabric. One simple way is to measure the curtain length, divide the length by two and cut the fabric strips that long. Then, Fold the Fabric In Half and Sew It Along The Long Edge. Finally, Hem The Edges.
If you want to make a curtain, you can cut a strip of fabric larger than the curtain you want to make, and sew it along one side of the curtain rod. Then, Cut Another Strip Of Fabric That Is Half The Width of The First Strip And Sew It Along The Other Side Of The Rod. Finally, Hem Both Sides Of The Curtain.
If you want to make a curtain, the first thing you need to do is cut a piece of fabric twice as long as you want to sew it together. Then, Center This Piece Over The Rod And Sew Down Each Side. Finally, Hem Each End.

Materials Needed
To make curtains with strips of fabric, you will need some materials. You will need a piece of fabric measuring at least 18 inches wide by 36 inches long. You will also need thread scissors and a straight edge.
Begin by cutting the fabric into strips that are 1 inch wide by 36 inches long. Make sure to keep the edges of the strip straight. Next, sew the strips together using a zigzag stitch. Make sure to leave a 1-inch seam allowance on both sides of the strip.
Next, apply glue to one end of the strip and attach it to the top side of one of the window frames. Make sure to hold the strip in place for 30 minutes so that the glue can dry. Repeat this process with the other end of the strip and all of the window frames.

Personalization - the ultimate advantage of layered curtains
Layered curtains offer the ultimate in customization.  It is not possible to change the fabric and colour of a pair of ready-made curtains, but you have the freedom to choose other things.

  • You can decide on the length of your strips, which will depend on how wide or thin you want your curtain panels to be.
  • Roman blinds are a great choice for creating a space that's cozy and warm.
  • Depending on whether the pieces are intended for use indoors or outdoors, you can choose how far apart the pieces should be.

    Conclusion
Tailoring your curtain's designs to match your personal style is more fun than you might think.  Whether you are looking for something simple, like a tiered curtain with coordinating fabric strips, or want something more elaborate and intricate, there are plenty of ways to go about it. If you are not sure where to start, take a look at our collection of creative curtain ideas and get inspired.  Who knows — maybe one of them will be the perfect solution for your home.
