This Kaihara® Japanese selvedge denim is an unsanforized (raw) denim inspired by early 1900s workwear, featuring a classic Levi 1901–style selvedge and a deep indigo tone. Woven from 100% cotton on traditional looms, it reflects the heritage craftsmanship Japanese denim is renowned for.
This is a lighter-weight selvedge denim with a crisp handle and clean structure, ideal for authentic vintage-style garments. As an unsanforized fabric, it will shrink after washing, allowing garments to mould naturally to the wearer over time.
Well suited to jeans, workwear-inspired pieces, overshirts, lightweight jackets and heritage garments, this denim is a great choice for makers and designers seeking true raw selvedge character with historical influence.
